Gerard Reiter毕业于南昆士兰大学工程与测量学院，他曾获得南昆士兰大学工程与测量学院授予的年度优秀校友殊荣，他的成功很大程度上取决于他对机会的把握。
Gerard于1992年获得南昆士兰大学电子电气工程学士学位(荣誉学位)，先后在澳大利亚昆士兰、德国和瑞士等地从事工程工作。目前他是越网公司(TransGrid)基础设施项目运输的执行总经理。他曾屡获Powerlink卓越经营成就奖。
